Trunk or Treat!

It was our annual ward Halloween party- the typical chili feed and trick or treating. I decided to try my hand at being a seamstress. I have a feeling it won't be my last but certainly I was cursing my decision late Friday night when Wes's costume was not even started and I had a Saturday, like most of you, with a million things going on (did I mention we FINALLY finished painting the walls In the kitchen and living room? I will post some pics soon) Anyway no bragging rights from this unsavvy sewer- however, I was pleased people could tell what Wes was supposed to be, but I am positive it was the light saber that did the trick. Maddie, on the other hand, wanted to specifically be Princess Leia "from the END of the movie, mom!" And therefore refused to wear the signature side buns and opted for a bridal veil. Why argue?? My favorite pic is of my little Jedi and Yoda fighting. Also, I did not know Minnie Mouse was a vampire??

They Say It's My Birthday!

Wes turned two today! Hooray! We have been partying since Sunday when Grandma Sheila came for a visit (she had her 45th High School Reunion in Emmett) and we were happy to have her here with us. Sunday Wes opened all of his gifts from his grandparents. Wes's favorite gift BY FAR was the Thomas the Tank Engine that Grandma Judy sent (thanks Grandma!!). He even slept with it. Maddie's favorite gift Wes received was the wagon blocks that Grandpa Merlin sent- she has been building towers non-stop. We made Wes a fire engine cake- I knew it was a success when he recognized what it was- "fye tuck!" is what he called it. Today he opened his gifts from us (just lots of stuff with wheels- his favorite) and loved all of his new trucks and cars so much that he put them all on the table to eat lunch with him. What a cute and fun little boy! We can't believe he is already two! Happy Birthday little buddy!

Trip to the Fire Station

We took the pre-schoolers to the fire station. They weren't quite sure about it, especially when the fire man put on his whole fire man suit. Then Justin thought briefly of a career change until he tried the fire suit on and even his own kids wouldn't go near him! It was funny. I would have to say, Wes was the funniest- he really got down to stop, drop and roll and showed us how to "crawl" out of the smoke. in these pictures, my kids are hanging on to me for dear life because they were afraid of being in the fire truck! Funny. Cool pic of "glowing" Justin, huh?

Go Cougars!

We drove up to Seattle for the BYU-Husky game- the drive stunk (thanks Wes) but the trip itself was great. We sat with all the Husky alumni and had a great time cheering loudly for our team! Thanks Kari and Marc for the tickets and for putting up with the opposing team sitting next to you! And the kids had ball playing with their cousins while mom and dad spent their day at the game.

Fall Photos

Bev, our sister-in-law, took some amazing photos of our kids. She is the best photographer and sister-in-law ever! thanks for being patient, Bev. The pictures turned out so great. I think they are the essence of my children. Here are a few to tickle your taste buds, and for me to show off how adorable I think my own kids are. Isn't that what a family blog is?? Just for the record, I think all your kids are adorable too.

Our Little Pre-Schooler

Maddie started pre-school this week- what a big girl! We are so proud. Daddy did her hair- great job dad! Wes thought he was big too. Funny kid!
